1. I wish I'd heard the song before seeing the video.

I watched that episode of "Grey's" the other night. Once the video came on I tried not to look, but scenes from the show were interspersed.

I detest music videos. Loathe them. Wish they'd never been invented.

I don't begrudge anyone's enjoyment. I just can't stand them.

Lewis Black has a great way of describing them. I can't quote it word for word but it's something like

"music goes in your EAR! where does video go? in your EYE!

"if you ever hear a song, then see the video, and the video matches up with your vision of the song -- kill yourself."

Edited to add that I liked the song but my point (and I do have one) is that I'd probably get really into the song if I hadn't seen a video of it. :shrug:

4. I can listen to the music without paying a lot of attention to the video

but I like music videos

She is my new, very favorite singer, songwriter. :loveya: I ordered her self titled break out CD a couple of months ago (after graywarrior posted her website), and can't get enough of her sound. I'm glad that she will get the kind of recognition that she deserves from her Grey's Anatomy gig. This talented young woman needs to be shared with the world.

6. Here are a couple of my favorite tracks from her 1st CD

The 4th track is so powerfully performed that I get goose bumps every time I listen. The tune is called "Throw it All Away". "Follow" is another one from her first CD that I love.

This isn't really the type of song that gets played on those shows - they are generally pop ballads. I'm not putting those down, as I've liked my share, but this is a nice change.
