"There's a song in the heart of a woman"
Gawd I love this song!

Place in the World for a Gambler Lyrics
Artist(Band):Dan Fogelberg

There's a place in the world
For a gambler
There's a burden that only
He can bear
There's a place in the world
For a gambler,

And he sees
Oh, yes he sees...
And he sees
Oh, yes he sees...

There's a song in the heart
Of a woman
That only the truest of loves
Can release.
There's a song in the heart
Of a woman.

Set it free
Oh, set it free
Set it free
Oh, set it free
Set it free
Oh, set it free.

There's a light in the depths
Of your darkness
There's a calm at the eye
Of every storm.
There's a light in the depths
Of your darkness.

Let is shine
Oh, let it shine
Let is shine
Oh, let it shine
Let is shine
Oh, let it shine.

Let it Shine

1. The calm at the eye of every storm...
...that's a tricky one, isn't it?

This song always made me cry.

Suddenly, I'm missing Floogeldy...

I know most people won't understand what I mean by that..

but I do.

2. Well I do know that
having peace in the midst of chaos is a worthwhile goal to have, that's my goal, to be able to be serene and not driven by my emotions at every whim.

To be able to not react to things unless I choose.

I'm a long way from that goal.

I don't know what you mean KC, but I understand the emotion of sadness with this song.

It's always tugged at my heartstrings as well.

I have many memories associated with it, and Fogelberg in general. They are all good memories, but sad in that they are long since past and my life is far removed from those days.

Hope this day finds you well

3. The problem with the eye of a storm, though, is..
..eventually, one has to pass through the rest of it (the storm, that is). It's just a temporary reprieve. My goal is a more permanent peace. I guess sleep deprivation makes me philosophical. Hope this day will find you well, too.

4. Yes, that is true
the rest of the storm is always there

what I've contemplated is the ability to find that peace in the midst of chaos.

I knew a man... you could always see it in his eyes, he experienced that serenity. He was in his 70's and it just seemed that nothing rattled him. I can't tell you whether it did or not, but he always seemed to be serene, at peace, no matter what.

I know he wasn't perfect and there is no perfection.

I do understand what you mean though KC

I strive for that too.

I also want to stop being someone that causes storms or contributes to them because I do believe that there is bad 'karma' that comes with that, whether it is mystical/spiritual or not, it certainly is just reality--if you act, an equal and opposite reaction will occur.

So my goal, today, is live and let live.

peace to you!
