So how's your weekend been?
Mine has been a three-ring circus. :( :yoiks: It started off Friday with my in-laws being late to our house to leave for my husband's cousin's wedding. (The bride is the one that had the two showers that my MIL dragged me to.) My in-laws are never, ever, ever on time, so we deliberately told them that we needed to leave by 1 PM, knowing that if we left by 3 PM we'd still be OK. By 4 PM, we still had not heard from them. We were supposed to attend the rehearsal dinner that evening, and the location was an hour and a half away. My mother had bailed earlier in the week on watching our dogs for us, so I was going to stay at home that evening and drive down separately the next morning. We had everything worked out, and then all hell broke loose. About 4 PM, my father-in-law fell when he and my MIL were leaving the house to pick up my husband. He ended up in the emergency room, and we had to leave to meet them there. We didn't get home until very late, and needless to say, we didn't make the rehearsal dinner. My FIL didn't break anything, but he's pretty banged up with scrapes and bruises. He's nearly 81 years old, and getting around is getting much harder for him these days.

Well, the next morning, we got up early and hit the road. I drove our car separately, and it was wonderful to have quiet in the car. :D Our next-door neighbor (the liberal one, not the Freeper) graciously agreed to let our dogs out a couple of times while we were gone. We picked up his parents and got there about 11 AM. The wedding was at noon, and it was very nice. We got back very late last night, and I was totally and absolutely exhausted when we got home. I fell into bed about 10:30 last night and didn't wake up until 10:30 this morning. It's rainy and messy here, and it's a good day to stay in. :)

As an aside, I found out yesterday that my yakky MIL also yaks in her sleep. (No big surprise, but damn....) My sister-in-law (hubby's sister) told me yesterday that when she's taken her mother places and had to stay in a hotel with her, she starts talking in the middle of the night. According to SIL, she sounds like Carl from Slingblade...:spray:  "Yeah, mm-hmm..." very guttural, kind of like clearing her throat.... :yoiks: SIL said it's mostly negative, hateful stuff, like, "I never liked that boy. He's retarded." and "You look terrible in that. It makes you look like an elephant." :yoiks: I can only guess who she's talking to in her dreams, but it's awful.

So, how's YOUR weekend? Better than that, I hope. :hi: :D

Mine has been ok so far.
Last night i went to a friends 40th b-day party and had to sit through a really shitty dj who played even crappier music.
I would have rather slammed my genitalia in a car door than be there.:yoiks:

7. So far so good
We went to look at matresses yesterday, didn't buy one. I just woke up, and later I'm going to see Tom Jones! The whole weekend has really been a mere prelude to tonight. Joy.

I would have loved to see him in Vegas. That was the dream, but I'll have to settle for staying home and seeing him. LOL.

12. Better than yours
Went out yesterday and got a couple of Adirondak chair kits and put them together, rain is preventing me from painting them. Also bought a solar panel kit and parts for a solar water heater, rain is again preventing me from doing anything more with them. Was supposed to go to the Thai temple today for their New Year festival and chow down on some good food, its outdoors so rain is interfering again.
Instead I'm relaxing and reading.

14. Well, it's much better now

:loveya:

:D

Yesterday I woke up at 1 AM and couldn't get back to sleep, then had to help someone (a friend of my work partner) move houses, so between those two things I not only didn't work yesterday but fell asleep in the late afternoon and woke up in time to wonder what day I was in and to not go to sleep again until 6:30 AM this morning. And today there're thunderstorms about, according to the weather people (Vegas weather seems even harder to predict than wins on s slot machine), so I'm not going to work but will instead Take Care of Business, including figuring my fiscal contribution to the Military-Industrial Complex.

In retrospect, it's not a bad one. I wish yours was better, though!

You did make it through, though. :*

29. Crim son & I went to TJ Maxx shopping and acted out the following in the lingerie aisle
Edited on Sun Apr-15-07 04:40 PM by Maineiac
(To the tune of Winter Wonderland)
Lacy things -- the wife is missin',
Didn't ask -- her permission,
I'm wearin' her clothes,
Her silk pantyhose,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear.

In the store -- there's a teddy,
Little straps -- like spaghetti,
It holds me so tight,
Like handcuffs at night,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear.

In the office there's a guy named Melvin,
He pretends that I am Murphy Brown.
He'll say, "Are you ready?" I'll say,"Whoa, Man!"
"Let's wait until our wives are out of town!"

Later on, if you wanna,
We can dress -- like Madonna,
Put on some eye shade,
And join the parade,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear!

Lacy things, that she's missin',
Didn't ask her permission,
Painting my toes,
Her silk pantyhose,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear.

Actually, I did the singing and acting. Crim mostly rolled on the floor laughing. I hope the security folks enjoyed our little show.

30. It's been a great one so far
I spent Friday with a friend doing some bargain hunting. (I don't particularly like shopping, but it's much more fun hitting the second hand stores and making a 'find') I found a $50 salad spinner (yes, there are $50 salad spinners!) for $3, and a beautiful salad bowl for $5 at Goodwill. :)

Memorable on Saturday was a phone call with a wonderful friend - another marathon 6 hr call. :silly: GoPsUx's smilie for me certainly is fitting...

I also had a first rehearsal of a small production I'm involved with - we've only got 2 weeks to get it up and running. :scared: It's only a half hour, and a one time only thing - I'm hoping it'll come together quickly!

Here's hoping next weekend is a better one for you, NWC. :pals:

34. It's been ok
Today hasn't been the best. Our sump pump broke, and there's some flooding in the basement. We were able to get someone here to fix it today, fortunately.

I've been enjoying music, including a preview of Avril's CD. Watched some of the Philly mayoral debate, and want either Evans or Brady to win.
