Edited on Sun Apr-15-07 09:27 AM by alfredo
to launch CSPAN video. They work fine from my desktop, but when I put them online, download, then try to open, they fail.

All this is is a script that opens Real Player then goes to the CSPAN video feed. One does the same for audio from a local NPR station. If it is no big thing, download a couple and let me know if it launches Real Player.

Here's the site with the launchers:

http://homepage.mac.com/alfredo_tomato/FileSharing21.html

If it doesn't work you will see movement in the dock like something is opening, but then it dies. No harm will be done. If it doesn't work, just pitch the application and let me know if it did or didn't work.

Thanks.

Forgot to add:

One person said they worked. I am of a mind to think it is my computer.

1. Sorry... I refuse to install RealPlayer... Or random scripts...
I trust you.. but, sorry.

But, I do know Applescript. If you post the text of the scripts I will take a look... But, my bet is a permissions problem. Get Info and allow read & write for everyone.

2. I understand Here's the script
tell application "RealPlayer"
	run
	open location
"rtsp://128.163.9.218:554/broadcast/wukylive.ra?cloakport=80,554"
end tell

I might try this script to see if there is a difference.

4. What did you make these with?
Maybe they are getting saved as RTF (Rich Text Format). That would fuck them.

/Applications/AppleScript/Script\ Editor.app/

Should save them in a friendly format.

6. I used the script editor and saved them as applications.
They work as an application on my desktop, but if I put them on the web and download them they don't work. Somehow they get munged up.

5. No, they are just plain-jane AppleScripts.
I am going to upload the second script. I didn't do these as run only and I compiled them. Let's see if they work.

Nope
