Did that hurt a lot? I don't ask because I've any interest in getting a tatto (I admire them, but I have a low pain threshhold about skin stuff), but because my goddaughters (15 and 13) got their first tattoos this weekend. (They were accompanied by and had permission from their mom, CMW's sister, as required by the law here.) Sara, who's 15, got a tattoo with very little black in it, and she hardly flinched. Luisa got a larger tattoo with _lots_ more black in it, and she's very swollen and irritated and the tattoo artist told her to expect this, something about the black ink. Both girls got their tattoos on their lower, left abdomens, just above the bikini line.

Is there something about black ink that makes it hurt worse than the other colors?

I'm kinda sore today, but as you can see it's a big tattoo. I don't remember how much my color arm band hurt, so I don't know if that's true or not.

I am reminiscing how my left arm felt at the Boston DU gathering that year (in the bowling alley)when I had my sleeve done and drove from western New York straight to Boston. itch.

salt water helps it heal. so does a zinc supplement supossedly. also, when a healing tattoo itches you can slap it instead of scratching it but your back is hard to reach unless somebody else does it anyway.

i bet it feels like a sunburn somewhat.
