7. Last night I was reminded ...

... that our "squirrel-proof bird feeder" is not raccoon-proof. Dude was sitting right on top of it munching on seed, fell off when I opened the door, scurried away, then stared at me from about 30 feet away for a while before jumping the fence.

I saw a wild Turkey stand in the middle of a road (a narrow windy woodsy country road) and I swear try to stare my car down. I was right in front of him before he casually ran up the hill. Thats a big birdie! I was really surprised by the boldness of this bird. To this day, my only Turkey sighting (and I go birding). Lucky you having them hang around at least for a while:)
