The thing is, we have lots of stray adult cats around here, and if they turn up at our door, they're in. Maybe a kitten will show up at the door; that would be nice. I'd have my kitten and I wouldn't have to feel guilty about not getting an adult instead. I love my adult cats to pieces, but I haven't had a kitten in about 27 years.

Nope, never nabbed her. I will now, though. I'm learning not to be afraid by petting her a lot in her kitten bed. I don't know why she's standing for it, but she seems to like it.

23. We tamed a feral cat by feeding her kittens. (Hmmm, that didn't come out right.)

Mia Feral. She wouldn't run away, because she didn't want to leave her brood.

She still lives in the parking lot outside our shop, but now she has a comfy, insulated cat house. She comes running whenever she hears Mr. Femmedem's car, and will sometimes sit all afternoon outside the door, waiting for him to come out and pet her. (She's afraid to come in, though.) Folks in town call her his girlfriend.

Thank you so much for posting such wonderful pictures. I have to agree with the person upthread who said that last one would be a great Mother's Day card.

25. My daughter wants to hold the kittens. And she wants to know

if they are asleep. So, we just had a talk about how kittens and puppies can't open their eyes for several days after they are born.

That led her to ask if kittens and puppies are born with sick eyes.....

So we had another talk! LOL!

She is so inquisitive. I wish my husband wasn't allergic so she could have a kitten.

She is mentally handicapped, so, you will see a 20 year old but you will be talking to a 4 year old, basically.

40. It's a healing experience, holding a new kitten. Sounds like I'm full of it, but . . .

Our first foster litter was born in our basement on 9/11. I went down to check on the mommy -- a completely wild feral -- just before we went to bed, and I am so glad I did. I can't describe how wonderful that was.
