Does anyone actually
bake the logs of cookie dough? I just eat them out of the package... Why else would they sell raw cookie dough?

1. I so agree.
I bake cookies all the time, to bring to work, I don't eat the cookies because the dough is so much better. I think we should skip the baking part.

3. Cookie dough
is the only thing we insist on cooking even though it's better before we cook it. I'll admit, I like steak almost raw, but it has to be seared on the outside.

5. Oh yea, all you have to do is run the cow by the fire
and I'm ready to eat. I don't understand people who like thinks burnt.

6. De-horn it, run it through a warm room,
etc... The easiest way to ruin a steak is to cook it medium or more. If I wanted to eat leather, I'd eat my combat boots. Never understood people who order their steak medium well or well.

I have only been able to get medium rare lately.

10. Yeah, I know what you mean.
I usually have to argue and still get it medium rare, which is acceptable. The fun nazis can't stop me from grilling steak rare at home though. Make the grill as hot as possible, then cook it for about a minute and a half on each side. That's good eatin'.

eating raw cookie dough (two separate occasions).

That was enough to tell me it isn't the safest thing to do...

9. Pour some whiskey on it.

Anyway, sorry to hear you got sick from it I'm not trying to make light of that situation. Though, you have to admit, before you got sick from it, raw cookie dough is much better than the finished product.

12. Does anyone actually
buy logs of cookie dough?

I know they must, I see it for sale, but I have to wonder why? It's so much cheaper to make it yourself.

16. well, for some people
time is money. So "cheaper" is relative.

And for the rest of us, it's not about what's cheaper, but rather about how we would prefer to spend our time. I would much prefer not to have to mix dough OR clean up after myself.

But I usually avoid the entire problem by BUYING already made chocolate chip cookies.

19. True
It's not about the money or time. I should have added that making it yourself results in better tasting & fresher cookie dough.

Boxes and boxes in the freezer full of nuggets of frozen cookie dough...

Oh, man, chocolate-chip M&M cookie dough is SOOOOO good!

Haven't thought of it in 9 years... now I want some!

15. I bake them
but I don't bake very often.

I'm not a cookie dough fan AT ALL. There's just something too comforting about the warm, gooey, melted chocolate chips.
