Does anyone remember the balloon incident?

It was during the impeachment and there was this e-mail list with hundreds of people on it. We didn't Blind CC or bitch about how long it took to open the e-mail. We were all so pissed at what was happening. The group lasted up until the 2000 election, they may be going still.

Anyway, we decided to buy balloons for clinton to be delivered the day of the Congressional vote. We called this one place in DC and gave our credit card numbers. There were going to be 100s of balloons delivered. But when the day came something happened and we could never verify if they were actually delivered. The fighting went on for months and months. Just when it died down someone would send out a private e-mail they had from someone else and.........

When I look back on it, those were the good old days.
