Please tell me I'm not the only freak jamming on my toy guitar to a packed digital house?? :-)

1. I'd like to try it
do you have to know how to play guitar to do it, or can anyone play?

6. No guitar playing knowledge necessary.

The game is basically a rhythm game where you push colored buttons on a guitar neck and stum a bar as visually represented "notes" scroll down a screen.

I picked up the original on the PS2 and just picked up GH2 for the Xbox 360. The game is pretty, (no, make that quite) addictive...After each song I'm always like "O.K. I know I'll nail that "solo" this time around".

Good set list on both games and apparently GH3 is scheduled for release around the end of the year.

You can play with a regular controller but you kind of lose the purpose if you don't play with the guitar shaped version.

8. I've heard they are working on a "Rock Band" so you will have a drummer, guitarist, and a mic for
a singer too. That should be hilarious. I've also heard that they are coming up with a GH 80s version, which would be hysterical, because that's my hair metal period of life.

15. In concept , Rock band sounds like a load of fun
but I'm wondering how many people are going to bite the bullet and fork out extra money for one of the non-guitar instruments esp. if there are price differences between the other pieces.

You'd have to figure the singer attachment (microphone) is going to be a whole hell of lot cheaper than the drum set attachment.

7. No, I haven't picked up a guitar since high school and I'm doing ok with it.
It probably helps to have an idea, but I don't really and I'm having a blast with it.

2. I don't want to pay for the controller.
But I'd love to try it out at somebody else's house. Looks like a lot of fun.

3. You can play it without the guitar. My son borrowed it from a
friend and we just played it with the regular PS2 controller. I'm sure it's more fun with the guitar but I had fun playing without it:-)

4. I don't myself but I love watching my kids play it
Only video game they've ever had where I actually enjoy watching the kids play it. Best video game EVER.

9. I can't link to it because I'm at work, but if you search on YouTube, there's
a video of an 8 year old kid playing You Really Got Me Know, that Van Halen song. It's hilarious, because he's playing it like Eddie Van Halen. I had to curse him out a bit because I'm no where near as good as he.

11. Karaoke Revolution is tons of fun too, you might like trying it
yourself. My singing range sucks but it's still fun.:-)

14. I'm not happy about some of the song selections in II
Some are a little...esoteric, and they definitely jacked up the difficulty from the first one. But otherwise, it's very fun.
