Just learned something new about hard boiling eggs.
The Gospel According to Miz t.:
If you like your hard boiled eggs all symmetrical with the yellow right in the middle, turn them pointy end down in the fridge.
The yolk can't get all the way down to that end and stays right in the middle while you cook 'em.
Cool.

2. Never noticed if they were pointy end up or down.
Now I'll have to go to the grocery store and look.
We put 'em in another container in the fridge.

5. I learned something too ... unfortunately....
I have an uncle that has chickens. He passed on some bantam eggs to me by way of my mother. I guess they were a little, um, not so fresh. I boiled some and a couple floated. I didn't eat them.

BUT, after googling, I learned that if an egg floats (raw or boiled), don't eat it (probably fine for the dog though - smell 'em first to make sure they're not rotten). If they stand upright, pointed end down in water, they're okay to eat but are best used in recipes or boiled.

Fascinatin', ain't it?
