I'm getting a union job!
I've passed my placement test and qualifying interview, now I just have to wait for an opening for an apprentice. Hopefully in a few weeks, I'll officially be a union member! It's perfect timing too, with all the hell I've been going through at my current job recently. No more 12 hour shifts with no breaks!

:woohoo:

2. Thanks!
It'll be harder work than what I'm doing (on most nights) now, but the working conditions will be much, much better and I'll finally get off the graveyard shift.

3. Better working conditions make all the difference in how you feel
about the job. I can't imagine surviving the graveyard shift!

6. The shift isn't too bad
but it's the lack of a lunch break (or actually a break of any kind unless it happens to be slow) that really gets to me. I've tried explaining to my boss that, being hypoglycemic, it's absolutely neccessary that I take time to eat. According to them, there's no reason why I can't answer the phone, do computer work, unload trucks, sort freight and eat lunch all at the same time, lol.

4.  Look for the union label
Look for the union label
when you are buying that coat, dress or blouse.

Remember somewhere our union's sewing,
our wages going to feed the kids, and run the house.

We work hard, but who's complaining?
Thanks to the I.L.G. we're paying our way!

So always look for the union label,
it says we're able to make it in the U.S.A.!

5. I remember that slogan
They have a bulletin board up that lists a few union products and according to opensecrets, donate exclusively to Democrats. When I found that out, I knew it was for me.
