I Got An Email From Conservative Leaders About the "F" Word On TV
How did I get on their list, considering I swear like a truck driver. This is pretty funny...especially the undersigned; Randall Terry is one of them :wtf:

Dear Conservative Friend:

The FCC's Enforcement Bureau has made a horrible mistake in ruling the
F-word may be uttered on network television to express joy or anger.
Such an unbelievable rationalization in response to complaints after
the Golden Globes telecast clearly shows the FCC's criteria for judging
appropriate program content MUST be revised!

Your help is needed before our ears are filled with obscenities coming
from our living room TV sets during prime-time network programming.
Please go to ConservativePetitions.com to see what is at stake. Here's
the address:

The FCC ruling has given the green light to the F-word's use, as
evidenced during the recent Billboard Music Awards telecast. It's only
going to get worse. A lot worse -- unless you and your friends act!

If the FCC thinks it is okay with the American public to blurt out the
F-word, so long as it's not used in reference to the sex act, then
think again! Here's where to tell FCC Chairman Michael Powell that use
of the F-word is not acceptable under any condition:

The FCC is out of touch with the American people and needs a jolt of
reality. It must quit listening to foul-mouthed liberals and decadent
Hollywood types who are determined to undermine our nation's values.
The FCC must turn instead to the viewing public to determine a better
definition for what is or isn't acceptable for prime-time network TV.

Clearly FCC guidelines must be toughened to stop the detrimental impact
such crass language and obscenities are having and will continue to
have on our society. Here again is where to tell the FCC that network
television must be held a higher standard than the street or cable
programming:

William J. Murray
Religious Freedom Coalition

Rev. Louis P. Sheldon
Traditional Values Coalition

Gregory Quinlan
Pro-Family Network

P.S. This isn't a political issue. It's not about censorship either,
because anything still goes on cable networks. No, it's about the FCC
not abiding by the will of the people for network television. So let's
enlighten the FCC by directing everyone to make their voice heard at:

dumbasses

funny thing is, just about EVERY person I've known has dropped an "f-bomb" at some point, even my mom! Saying the FCC is "out of touch with the American people" is insane, It means they are out of touch with the people who are out of touch w/the American people

9. One representative even submitted a bill.
I saw this a couple of days ago - can't find it now. In the bill he had to write out every bad word, and every form of usage of the words that he wanted to ban. I hope they do the reading of this bill live on C-Span, that would be hilarious.

13. So now the GOP are self-appointed Word-Nazis!
One of these days, I will write a tribute to the word "fuck." As a Democrat, I appreciate a word that is multi-faceted and verbally versatile. Good gravy - it's a noun, it's a verb, it's an adjective! How many other words in the English language can be used in such a wide variety of ways? I am deeply, deeply offended that the GOP would foolishly squander our English language by replacing one perfectly good word with - well only the good Lord knows how many other words we would need if we did not have the word "fuck." It's just like them to create a whole campaign around a fucking word. Tax and spend and subvert the English language...is that ALL these fucking people know how to do.
Fucking-A.
Carol

14. Is it really OK to say 'fuck' on primetime TV now?!
Huh... wouldn't have guessed it.

I do remember the prolific use of 'ass' when that became OK.

15. Also typical of Repukes
Under the terms mentioned above, it's acceptable to say, "I'm gonna fuck you up!", but not OK to say, "Hey, Baby, let's fuck!"

Fear sex, embrace violence: GOP family values!

16. They really need to do their research....respond with this.
http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/f-word.asp

Claim: The FCC has approved the use of the "f-word" on any TV show or radio program.

* The FCC ruled that a use of the word "fucking" during a Golden Globes broadcast did not violate FCC obscenity standards: True.

* The FCC approved a general use of any offensive language in TV shows and radio programs: False.

Tell the next time want to send you a petition to sign, they ought to do their fucking research first.
