Happy Maundy Thursday everyone, and have a joyful Good Friday!!
I never really know what to say for these two days.

I suppose "have a blessed Maundy Thursday" (or Good Friday) is the best phrase to use; or even contemplative or meaningful.

"Happy" just sounds weird... though in its own way, at least Good Friday, it IS a happy day.

But whatever the proper or most appropriate terminology is, may have whatever kind of day you want today, tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday.

May whatever you wish for be the least you receive;
May the worst you receive be the best you hoped for.

4. That holiday always makes me think of Apollonia in The Godfather.
"Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Wednesday..." etc.

5. Good Friday isn't a "happy" day - it's supposed to be somber and reflective.
For Catholics and most of us Lutherans, Good Friday services involve the Stations of the Cross, silent reflection, and silence when leaving the service. It's hard to know what to say, though, because Good Friday is really something you observe rather than celebrate.

Easter Saturday is a time for prayer vigils, and then Easter Sunday is the time for happiness and joy.

I'm not sure how I'd classify Maundy Thursday, though. "Happy Foot Washing" sounds a little fetishist. :D

6. Bite me.

After tonight's service, I muttered "one down, four more to go."

9. Four more to go? Does this mean you do an Easter Vigil?
Or do you have two Good Friday or three Easter services?

One church I was at did the regular noon Good Friday service, and then on Friday night did a family-style stations of the cross. That was pretty cool.

10. "Family Style"?
Doesn't that mean dinner is served at the table? ;)

One service tonight (GF - but NOT Tenebrae!)
Easter Sunrise (even though Jesus rose at the Vigil. Fucking morning people :grr:)
2 regular Easter services at 8:30 and 10:15.

I'll be either drinking heavily or sleeping around Noon on Sunday.
