Poll question: on a scale of 1 - 10, how would you rate your life?
I would rate it about 6 or 7.

Mostly pretty good, would like to ditch the working 8 hours a day part thou.

2. voted seven-- generally pretty good, but there's always room for improvement....
I mean, if time ran backward for ten or fifteen years and I hit the SuperLotto or something, that would bring things up a notch, right?

I have good health, a great family, great friends and the best soulmate and partner I could have ever dared hoped for. My job is the only iffy part of things.

9. Well, I do spend 40 hours a week at the job.
Or more, sometimes. It is a big part of my life. That's why I said 8.

21. unless you are doing one of these jobs, how bad can it be?
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=4238490

My jobs have always sucked to one degree or other, so I expect it and can find the good (and bad) in any job.

6. I'm gonna go with 9, right now.
School's good, relationship is rock solid, relatively healthy, sane, love my family, like my apartment. Could always use more $$ and I'd like to have a doggie again, but otherwise,

I'm lonely and I'm convinced that I spent the last 20 years of my life raising a child only to have him ignore nearly everything I tried to teach him.

8. I give my life a 9 right now
But that's in comparison with the rest of my life which has hovered anywhere from a 1 to maybe a 6. Puts a lot of things in perspective to me.

I'm not rich but I have a job I like with health benefits, which I never had before.
I don't live in a fancy place but it's beautiful.
I have a really great guy who adores me.
My kids are all doing reasonably well in their lives.
I have minor health issues but nothing that limits me severely.
I have decent credit.

I have a lot to be thankful for. I'm in good health, have a great circle of friends, I'm entering into a new relationship that I think has real potential, and I seem to have a decent amount of time to do things that I enjoy. I need to find a new job that isn't so stressful and I can always use more money, but things are pretty good on the whole. I'm a relatively happy person!

Just got married to a wonderful gal.

Health is good. I don't have to work very much or hard and I get paid a lot for what I do.

Life is easy and fun. Now if we could only get some more warm weather so I can play more golf life would be 5 stars.

17. 8 or 9
Recently took an early retirement so I have a lot more time to work on my art and other projects. I am forturnate to have a good hubby of 32 years and 2 employed adult children (that employed part is important).

The physical problems are of some concern but so far not life threatening.

Good friends, comfortable home, furry cats to curl up on my lap.

1/20/09 may put the number up to a 10. :-)

18. My 9 will go to a 10 when two things happen.
The Bush crime syndicate goes down thereby restoring Constitutional stability and my three-year old stops crapping on the floor.

19. I'm only going with a 7 at the moment.
I live just the way I've always wanted to live with a wonderful husband who's everything I've ever wanted but I can't leave the things going on in the world off my mind. If there were more justice in the world, I would rate it much more highly.

I may be in chronic pain
I may have noticed an increased desensitivity in my legs
I may have noticed a strong increase in fatigue
I was never popular with my peers of any group I considered myself to be in
I am a loner in ways most can't imagine or even claim to be

BUT

I do what I can do to survive
I look at the brighter things in life
Life ain't forever anyway
And I can't wait to get back to more opportunities. As they say, when one door closes another one opens.
Change is a part of life and change can lead to positive things too.

Life is good. Even if today isn't as nice as it was yesterday. Tomorrow will always be better.

23. i ditched the 8-hour work-a-day thing when i was 38.
unfortunately, it was because of permanent disabiliity due to a painful spinal affliction.

nut i still give things right now a solid 7...and that could go way higher the very moment we are able to sell our house/2-flat in chicago

27. we bought a different house, and i don't want to be an absentee landlord.
and once we sell the two-flat, we can pay off our current house and be totally debt-free...plus have some money to do some remodelling. we bought the two-flat 11 years ago, and will be selling it for over 3 times what we paid for it.

26. I say a 9
I love my life, but since nothing is perfect, I could do with a bit more money, and a bit more time that I don't have to spend at work.

All in all, though, my life is really great.

Finally moving on in my professional and private life. Leaving work soon to move onto something else and getting married early next summer. Work has majorly sucked over most of the past 6-8 months but I was able to let go when I gave my resignation to the boss. As my batteries continue to recharge things will only look better.

in all the things that are important. I've got a wonderful wife, two great sons, good health, a cat that ignores me except when he wants something, a roof over my head, and food on the table. I retired at the top of my game.

Perspective is everything.
