I just downloaded and installed Limewire to my pc.
It's this amazing music/video download application. My boyfriend uses it and recommended it.

Why didn't I do this before? Limewire is great.

1. Make SURE your anti-virus software is running and up to date.
It is full of junk... Bittorrents are the safer way to go.

5. Limewire is written in Java... That slows things down.
And yes, bittorrent rules.

7. And nasty things can get pulled from the Tracker quickly.
I started using Bittorrent when it was command line only. I have never download a fake file or virus.

9. I have had LimeWire for about 3 years
And I've NEVER- yep, I said never- gotten any kind of virus from it.
I've never downloaded anything bad at all.
I tried a bittorent app before but did not care for it.
Maybe someone could point me in a better direction???

12. I've only had it for a few months and have had no less than 5 instances of viruses
As far as BitTorrent apps, I have tried several and really like BitComet. And for finding torrents, I like mininova.org.

There's just no P2P app that can come close to torrents for full collections of music. P2P is good for single songs... that are "popular", but finding every song from a whole album is a joke at best. And if you manage to, they are of varying quality. Torrents are great for finding things like the entire Dead Kennedys discography.
