7. Brussels sprouts.
They're a traditional part of Christmas dinner in the UK. My mother would start cooking them in, I would guess from the flavour, late November.

The best way: In a steamer, with a minimum amount of water, for precisely two minutes.

What she does to a roast I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

All fear-based--as my relatives have gotten older, they've become obsessed with making sure their food doesn't poison them (undercooked meat, food left out too long--in their eyes, anything more than five minutes). I have no idea what's gotten into them.

30. I keep trying tofu thinking I'll find a way that I'll like it...
no luck so far..although the least yucky way I've tried was deep fried with spicy peanut sauce at a Thai restaraunt.
