6. The latest snowfall I remember in the Boston, Massachusetts suburb we lived in...
was on May 10th! All the deciduous trees were leafed out and that snowfall caused us thousands of dollars in damage to fences, pool, and trees.

Here in Portland, OR, we get snow where it belongs... usually on the mountains.

7. In Duluth, MN,
we get snow almost any time of year. July is the only month in recorded history that we haven't had snow.

10. I remember one of those May snowstorms in Massachusetts
Edited on Wed Apr-04-07 12:45 AM by marzipanni
My family's house was in an old apple orchard and the wet, heavy snow was too much for one of my favorite trees to bear and left it looking like a broken umbrella.

5. You'll get a break from it in a few days. I'll invite you to look at our Hawaii photos for a couple
of hours.

It was beautiful there, but I wanted your foot of snow at least a couple of times. If you invite me over, we can make some soup together... or play Scrabble... your move...

9. I love Hawaii...
Couldn't live there though, not enough snow or sub-zero temps.

14. I love Hawaii, too -- in the winter -- in small doses -- and with the promise of
going home to a temperate climate.

Portland is a compromise. It never gets cold enough here for me, but my husband loves the heat of summer. Never the 'twain shall meet...

15. In grammar school, a friend of mine used store snowballs ...
...in the family's downstairs freezer and then bring them out in July.

:bounce: WARNING! WARNING! Those snowballs tend to be hard as rocks come about July!! :bounce:

16. Throw flower seeds on top of it
As it melts, it softens up the seeds and pulls them into the ground. Great way to get many flowers started!

Works with lettuces too.
