Music/tech people, is there a program where you can separate a vocal track from a song?
i have to make a slide show for a family thing this summer and i need background music. Please and thank you.

there may be some downloadable tracks on the internets too.

There really is no effective way to remove vocals from pre-mixed stereo program material. Once something is mixed, it's like trying to un-blend something that has been mixed up in a blender.

9. Well, kind of, but the resuls are usually awful.
Your best bet is to just try to download instrumental versions of whatever song you want. A lot of hip-hop, pop, R&B, etc. songs are available as instrumentals.
