3. Nah...I don't count yesterday.

I watched the game last night, but it's a Sunday night and Opening Day is supposed to be the first Monday in April. Last night was just a single game and, while I can't swear to it, I *think* that the Sunday night game is always a re-match from the playoffs.

So, even though it wasn't a ST game, it doesn't count as Opening Day.

5. it was a wonderful surprise

my MIL is a big Yankees fan and one of the games is a Mets/Yankees game. I told my husband he has to bring his mother to that game because she will absolutely go crazy for it. She's 84, in good health for now but at her age, he won't get that many opportunities to do something like this. He called her and she is so excited. It made me feel good.

7. Indeed, today is opening DAY

In case you missed today's toons -- this one was a great one

I sent the cartoon with a "happy opening day" greeting to my fellow baseball fans at work, and got 2 back two comments about how YESTERDAY was opening day from people who just can't bear being away from the Greatest City Ever in the History of the World. Agggrrrrrggghhh. New Yorkers.
