I sat out on my deck today and got a sunburn.
April 1st. The ice isn't off the lake yet and there is still snow around in those dark shady areas. But the sun was warm. The birds are back and I can begin to see some baby buds on the trees. My dogs are barking at the woods these days and I think that means that critters are stirring and beginning to look for food. There was a smell this afternoon that I associated with warmth...warm skin, warm wood, the smell of warm dogs. It was very nice but we'll probably have a blizzard tomorrow. Such is a New England Spring!

1. that's usually how it is in New England this time of year...
75 and sunny one day and 6 inches of snow the next...but it keeps life interesting

2. Here in Wisconsin it was 78 degrees and sunny last Sunday
This Sunday it's 48 degrees and raining. The forecast is for snow showers this Wednesday. Spring in the Midwest is a crap shoot.

But the perennials are coming up.

3. We are expecting a blizzard in my area tomorrow

I got my sunburn yesterday doing some gardening. It was WONDERFUL. Tomorrow, I shovel snow. Where I live, it could happen next month too.

First 18 months I lived in Montana, there were only three months without snow. They were not consecutive.
