'Times like this I wish I had a girlfriend...
Although it's kind of late now that I'm about to graduate college and move on with my life, but I'm sooooo bored. Now, I know what you're thinking, "isn't this the busiest time of year for college kids? Shouldn't you be taking tests and writing essays?" Hear me out...

As many of you already know, I go to school in Canada, where our classes end in two weeks, earlier than most places in the US. That's why we have reading week, aka spring break, in February. I'm taking four courses this semester. One of them is a seminar, with no final exam. I turned in my 30+ page essay there last week. Another class had its final in class on Wednesday. The other two have exams during the exam period, which doesn't start until the third week of April. So basically I'm on autopilot until then. What'd I do today? Woke up at 11, went to brunch until 12:30. Hung out with a friend until 1:30, played computer games by myself and went to the gym. Then I went to dinner, came home, called my parents and did more stuff on the computer and the net. Now I'm here. OTOH, many of my friends have term tests in the last week of classes and/or huge essays due on the last day of class, so they're not coming out of their rooms or the cubicles at the library, leaving me mostly by my lonesome.

If I had a girlfriend, I figure at least she'd hang out with me, right? I figure that would be worth all the money and emotional commitment at this point. At least I'm going on a trip until Monday, but after that it's 3 weeks of boredom. Can anybody recommend a good book?

1. While I completely understand what you are saying, I think that
you should try to enjoy your time to yourself for now. One day you will share your life with that girl, but being alone can be great also!

6. I have to second Shell Beau's post.
If, for no other reason, that special other one may never show up. I know the older one gets in such a singular state, the more difficult it can be, but people have to do it.

3. I love Snoopy!
The Peanuts were one of my favorite cartoons growing up.

9. FWIW, I don't think so.
People invest time and emotional commitment in other people. This does not make them machines or things, in fact it implies the opposite.
