have a baby, Piper Bee-Jones. Or something like that.

Anyway, Jason Jones did a story on the Arabic translator who was kicked out of the army b/c he's gay -- Jones tried to "divert" the guy while he was translating text by stripping and dancing and I thought I was going to stop breathing I was laughing so hard. The sight of a grown man (Jones), rather flabby, dancing in his undies in front of this guy (who didn't even blink until the very end) was, to me, hysterical.

True, his role on the show is slightly different than your regular correspondent. He doesn't get to go out to the sticks and harrass the politically misguided, or report "live" from some exotic location...

The fact is, since Carell (the simple-minded Idiot reporter), Colbert (the combative idiot reporter), and Corddry (the chauvinistic idiot reporter) left, most of the new or remaining correspondents haven't really found a consistent character to play, except for Hodgman. His approach (the know-it-all idiot reporter) is an original one, and it's also currently the funniest thing on the show, in my opinion.

12. i don't watch as much as I used to, but John Hodgeman is hilarious

I love his slightly condescending, very understated way of "explaining" things to john (I know they all do this, but his seems somehow delicate) He and Samantha Bee are my favorites.
