What do people think about the theories Rosie O' Donnell believes? I tend to be more of a believer in the idead that they let things happen on purpose. However, after seeing how the building fell I do have to question how that could have happened. I am not saying I believe there were bombs in the building. I just want to know how a building could fall in on itself like that without being blown up? Has anyone seen anything like that happen before? I realize that the towers falling was a pretty uncommon thing, but is there any physics information that says how that could happen? If metal rods get weak do they fall in on themselves?

I don't understand the argument that it "looked like" a controlled demolition, when nobody can tell me what it SHOULD have looked like.

I think its unfortunate that Rosie is being attacked for her views, but its a tough claim to make, espeically when no one is willing to defend you. So I admire her courage.

As for the views herself, anyone who has read even a page of the PNAC's website knew that war with Iraq and now Iran was coming. Its been their plan all along. And I tend to agree with her that the captured soliders are being used as pawns to incite a war.

As for her view that 9/11 was orchestrated and carried out by the government, I don't so much subscribe to that. This is, of course, not to deny that the neoCons needed, badly, a Pearl Harbor style event to trigger their aspirations to take us to war.

There are two basic theories about the government's involvement in 9/11. MIHOP, Made It Happen On Purpose, is essentially the view that this attack was planned and/or carried out by the US Gov't, with various levels of involvement and various means of executing the attack. The other is LIHOP, Let It Happen On Purpose. This view is just like it sounds, varying in detail but basically saying that the attack was done by terrorists or whatever, BushCo knew about it, and elected to let it happen, on purpose, for the obvious political gain they would achieve.

I am in the LIHOP camp, and have been since 9/11/01.

4. It's been a lot of years since I took any engineering classes in college,

so take this for what it's worth (not a lot). I do think it's important to keep in mind the sheer mass of the twin towers. They could look almost "lego-like" on a TV image, but in reality even the smallest segement you could make out on your screen was in fact huge. Once the structure is sufficiently weakened, something of that mass will tend to fall on itself - perpendicular to the horizon (straight down) simply because of gravity acting on a mass that huge. Large peices of the building will tend to crumble and fall on themselves because of the magnitude of the force involved.

Just my opinion, but I believe 9/11 was either sheer negligence or willful ignorance on the part of the administration. Not conspiracy, but incredible incompetence. Acknowledging there was a real threat would have been tantamount to admitting the previous President was right about anything - they weren't about to do that.

let me say that i am a LIHOP person myself.

i don't know anything about what rosie does or doesn't believe as i haven't kept up with that.

i do not believe that everything that could have been done to prevent 9/11 was done, and i do believe that it was allowed to happen. maybe they had no idea what would really happen, but i believe that there were those who knew that the terrorists were going to attack and did nothing.

10. Until I see more videos of the plane crashing into the Pentagon...

...this will never be resolved in my mind. Of all the cameras at the Pentagon (An officer I worked for said there are something like 7 on each "side"), and this one is the only one that we get to see??? I'm not ready to call it a full-on conspiracy, but I need to be convinced just a bit more.

got one basic fact very very wrong.

She claimed that the fire in WTC7 supposedly "melted" the steel, and that was physically impossible. Nobody makes that claim. Fire certainly weakened the steel, but nobody claimed it melted it.
