American Idol fans - do your friends make fun of you?

I mentioned Sanjaya to a friend the other night and then had to endure half an hour of mockery.

Anyone else in this position?

I enjoy much quality entertainment--thought provoking, meaningful books, music/lyrics, movies, plays.

Sometimes I just want fluff. Fluff has it's place in the world.

But I will admit that Season 6 is the worst yet. Only two of the men they picked interest me: Blake and Sundance. Sundance left before the top 12. And some of the talented singers, like Jordin and Gina, haven't lived up to their potential every time. There are more weak singers than I can remember. Maybe the judges are getting burnout. They seemed to be throwing darts in Hollywood week. Season 5 was the best that I've seen. Didn't see Season 1, but I'm a Kelly Clarkson fan.

I've seen it a few times, I must be doing something usually when it's on because I never see it. I don't watch a lot of TV though.

That's why I passed Sanjaya - at least his trainwrecks are amusing.

10. No, some watch too.

I must admit, I haven't watched too much this season. My work sked has not permitted me to watch.

But I have in the past and for the most part I like the show. Yes, it gets too much media hype but the intent of the show—making kids' dreams come true—is something I like and admire.

It's tough to break into the music biz and this show has given many people the opportunity to fulfill their dream.
