just to watch.

I was thinking earlier about the good old days and my favorite skits. One of the ones I loved was when Eddie Murphy went 'undercover' as a white person. That was hysterical.

edit: you are right it is miserably bad right now. I wonder who is writing for them? Amy Poehler is not doing the 'dumb blonde' bit well...it may be intentional since the writing is so beneath her. This is a bit that Victoria Jackson could pull off, or someone like that, but not Amy. Man, this is sad. Madtv has been a lot better than SNL for a very long time.

6. don't they get that the skits need to be more than just an "idea for a skit"?

8. my high school english teacher said that
about 20 years ago, that many of their skits were really just one-liners. I miss Eddie Murphy and Joe Piscopo, because they were comedians and good actors as well as comedians who could do stand-up. They've had a great run and they need to give it up. Besides Poehler I don't recognize anyone on here.

7. ;)
Hoping they will decide to bring it back, since it seems Black Donnelys (sp?) is tanking worse than Studio 60 did in the ratings.
Which are screwed anyway, from what I understand they really were'nt counting those of us who DVRd or Tivo'd it.

16. You're right. They don't deserve it.
They don't even deserve letters. Maybe we should just replace them with this picture of some erasers:

11. I'm dating myself, but I remember when...
I remember being at a college party, I was a freshman, and watching Jane Curtain rip her shirt open when Gilda Radner (Roseanne Roseannadanna) challenged her as to who had the biggest boobs. And then another college moment, Andy Kaufman losing it! And all of the appearances by Alec Baldwin and Christopher Walken (The Continental is my favorite of all time!). John Belushi! And Eddie Murphy!

Gildna Radner...she was so out there. And, last, but not least, Phil Hartman! What a beautiful and talented soul!

It has lost its edge, but I hope it stays on and gets its mojo back, just because there's so much great AMERICAN history there!

It's driving me nuts. She definitely has some pipes though, but this song seems very familiar.

15. Are you watching Carrie Underwood?
It is well worth sitting through the dead comedy just to catch her act.

17. Not just bad, but aggressively bad
It's as if the writers are proud of the fact that they clearly don't give a shit whether what makes it on air is actually funny.

18. Luckily,
I work most Saturday nights until after midnight, so I don't accidentally flip to SNL. That show has become one of the worst things on TV. It just isn't funny anymore.
