It's onea dem TIME LIFE infomercials!
Hurrah! :P

The last one I saw was the "Ultimate 80's" collection--over 150 '80s songs. Most of them bad! Whee! That was fun to mock with my dad.

Now it's "Malt Shop Memories"--all these '50s/early '60s songs. Hahaha! "Why must I beeeeee a teeeeeenager in love?" "And I onnnnnnnnly.....haaaaaavvvvveeee...eeeeeeeeeeyyyeeeeeeeeeeesssssss......FOR YOU!"

1. Arg. Those awful things always come on before Star Trek.
The 'Soft Rock Hits' collection hosted by 'Air Supply' wants to make me gag every time I see it.

2. Hilarious! Note the difference of the lyrics between decades:
1955:
"Why must I beeeeee a teeeeeenager in love?"
And I onnnnnnnnly.....haaaaaavvvvveeee...eeeeeeeeeeyyyeeeeeeeeeeesssssss......FOR YOU!"

2005:
"Sexy as I wanna be
Got these fellas chasin' me
It's 'bout time I hit the streets
All my girls still feelin' me"

"I'll lick you dry" (eek!)

"Let me break it down and tell you what your sex is like
Yeah I don't know what it is What it feels like"

et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, until ya puke.

I can't believe people were up in arms over lyrics of the 1950s and early 1960s. And, yes, I've censored myself for the modern day examples. Yeee-ouch!!

Even Jefferson Airplane's "Triad" (which tries to be noble but unfortunately has people laughing in hysterics) is infinitely more tasteful than the crass "shove it out there as crudely as possible so people will buy it for the shock value" garbage scribbled out these days.

3. Those things are like candy to me
They are always on when I'm doing my show in the middle of the night and they crack me up to no end. The new one w/ Glen Campbell hawking Countrypolitian music of the 70's is hilarious; Glen looks like he pried himself off the bar stool after a 5 day bender to make it to the taping...
