I've been going to my new Gym for about a month now...
Edited on Wed Mar-21-07 03:53 PM by MrsGrumpy
And I love it! :bounce:

What a neat idea to mount televisions right there, atop the treadmills. I mean, whoulda thunk it? I went 5 miles yesterday without losing my balance or having my heart spin out of control.

It's a bit freaky in the early mornings, but I'll get over it.

1. Good for you!
I've been exercising regularly at home for about that long and my big incentive came when my SO told me he could feel my butt getting tighter. :bounce:

I wish I could afford a gym but I get a lot done at home. What I really need is a stationary bike for some aerobic exercise that won't screw up my knees.

13. My fee was pretty cheap, it's month to month with no sign up.
Better than the last one. :hi:

2. Great job!
and you made it over the 'two week hump' - if you can keep going to the gym (or any other exercise program) for more than two weeks, you have made it a long term habit and are much more likely to keep it up.

14. It's my second go round. I quit when the kids were born a money thing.
I'm a gym addict so I'm not worried about not going, I'm worried about not coming back. ;)

I listen to the MP3 for circuit training...which is almost as fun.

I'm glad to see someone sticking with their gym convictions. Lots of folks talk about it, but many don't ever follow through.

7. Me too, except, I just joined about two weeks ago now. I've not made
it every morning, but I'm still getting in a groove. I've been going about every other day now. I just went through my first boxing class and it kicked my out of shape ass! I like it though, in a sick twisted way. It gets me out of my house.

9. I've been going to the gym
every morning at 5 AM for about 15 years now. It's a great way to start the day. A BIG bonus is my ability to recover from illness. I had a stroke in '99 that left me hemiplegic but I went from totally no ability to movre my legs to walking with a cane in 3 weeks. 3 weeks!!! Good for you going to the gym. Keep it up!!

children were born. It's good to be back. I just crack up over the treadmills with t.v.'s now.

12. I love watching TV at the gym
Except, like at home, there's never anything on! My gym is an easy commitment; there's no contract and it's only $10 a month, plus they have PIZZA on the first Monday of every month. Pizza at the gym. Pretty cool.

21. I'm loving the gym, too except for one thing
Every third frickin' TV has on the damn Faux news! I've written three comment cards asking them to please change the channel. There's no way having "TEACHER SEX SCANDAL" plastered across the screen for an hour at a time is "family-friendly." It'll briefly change to CNN for a few days, then it's right back to propaganda central. I just read on the elliptical machine now. Thank god the sound is off and they play good music.

On another note, Bootcamp classes are a great ass-kickin' workout if you want rev up your workout.

31. It feels great, doesn't it?
We got lucky. We have a full gym in the basement of our condo building. I've been going steady for about 4 months now. And I see big differences. It's amazing how easy change can come when you put forward some effort.

I wish our treadmills had personalized TV. We have one flat screen TV, and for the most part I have control of what is on it, since I'm usually the only one down at the gym.

Edited on Thu Mar-22-07 12:31 PM by Neo
when I go to the gym in the morning the only options are ESPN, Dr Phil, and some talk show I never heard of, She looks like Tina Fey on SNL. Luckily I have an iPod to keep me in the zone.

The Stationary bikes at Gold's Gym in San Francisco actually have web browsers on them so you can surf the net as you exercise.
