oregon coast (pic heavy)

we left portland late tuesday morning and made a stop in lincoln city, ore, on our way to ashland (had a late dinner at a fantastic pub in ashland). it was damn cold and windy at the beach, but, as always, it was beautiful









this is me doing the 'it is damn cold' dance


tomorrow, more time in ashland before heading down to mendocino county, where i get to see my favorite cousin. eeeeee!!!!!

It looks like it was very cold, but man, what a beautiful beach! A friend and I are planning a trip to Portland later this year. I've never been to Oregon, but now I will definitely plan a side trip to the coast. Thanks for sharing your pictures, and enjoy the rest of your trip!

5. i love the coast here

my sig pic was taken on cannon beach (of 'goonies' and other movie fame) a couple summers back. just don't plan on spending much time in the water, it's freezing cold, even in late august.

When Mrs. av8rdave and I were dating, we took a long weekend to fly out to Oregon and explore the coast. Sadly, the photofinisher lost all of our pics from that weekend. Yours brought back some memories...thanks.

Our trip was a lot of years ago now (mid 90s), but have a lot of fond memories, and was struck with the rugged beauty of the coast there.

12. you just happened to stop off in Lincoln City

on the way to Ashland? or did you take a wrong turn on 18 and once you were to McMinnville decided to push on through? :)

for those not from Orygun, Lincoln City is only about 60 miles out of the way- on winding mountain roads, in winter.

13. we had planned to hit the coast anyway

and my sister and i have a friend who is staying in lincoln city for the week. we do know how to read a map, thank you. why does geography matter anyway? we're on vacation and we're enjoying ourselves
