I think it's more of the images associated with each word.

See post #10. It's late and I'm getting sleepy.

I get stupid when I'm sleepy. Like spend too long debating the differences between disembowelment and evisceration.

10. My mind occasionally takes rather...
dark....turns. In this case, I'm just curious. Disembowelment sounds messier, while evisceration sounds a little more detatched and clinical.

To me, anyway.

23. Disembowelment is but a fraction of h/d/q
Dragged on a hurdle (a wooden frame) to the place of execution.

Hanged by the neck for a short time or until almost dead.

Disembowelled, and the genitalia and entrails burned before the victim's eyes

Beheaded and the body divided into four parts (quartered).

Typically, the resulting five parts (i.e. the four quarters of the body and the head) were gibbeted (put on public display) in different parts of the city, town, or, in famous cases, country, to deter would-be traitors. Gibbeting was abolished in England in 1843.

is more along the lines of dissecting something that's still alive.

about an article in Playboy I read several years ago, speculating about Jimmy Hoffa. The writer interviewed a former Mafia hit man, who told them they sometimes cut up guys with a chain saw.

While they were still alive.

As if the minute differences between evisceration and disebowelments weren't enough, now you've gone and not only added vivisection, but vivisection by chainsaw.

Sweet dreams are made of this...
Who am I to disagree?
Travel the world and the seven seas
Everybody's looking for something
Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused

16. Assuming the two procedures were performed equally quickly,
I'd assume the evisceration would lead to a quicker death. It seems that disembowelment would leave the participant alive for a non-negligible period of time in which to think about what just happened, so I'd say that one is worse...

37. I get it - the sibilance of "Evisceration" evokes sweet-nothings whispered
in a lover's ear on a velvet starry night. I can totally see that. Rather than a band, however, I think it should be the name of a sexy new perfume (the ads for that could be awesome). ;)
