***For Pickle Lovers Only*** (this is NOT a sex thread)
Edited on Tue Mar-20-07 10:02 PM by libnnc
Name the best pickle you've ever had.

For me, (and I consider myself quite the connoisseur) my search ended at Guss's on Orchard Street--NYC's Lower East Side. It was almost orgasmic (okay maybe a little reference to sex). For half a buck, it was a taste of pure heaven packed in a garlic brine...that I wanted to dive head first in.

Which pickle puckers your puss the best?

6. If you like crispy and firm, Claussen's is pretty good
It's usually in the refrigerated deli section (close to the deli meats).

8. Best thing to do with a pickle
Take several Claussen whole pickles, marinade them (in a large jug) in your favorite Bloody Mary mix, and take to a good jazz festival.

11. Ohhhh....that could be very dangerous.
I've always wondered how a dirty vodka martini made with really good, salty pickle brine would taste (instead of olive juice).

I'll try that with the Bloody Mary mix.

12. If you don't actually make your own BM mix
I would suggest Whiskey Willy's or Zing Zang. Whiskey Willy's is definitely the best base to start from...then add Claussen pickles, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco (don't substitute other hot sauces like the "Texas Pete" shit) to taste.

Best BM I ever had was at K-Paul's in NOLA. Sadly, I don't know what the score in NOLA is these days?

9. a batch of homemade pickles my mom made once
of course, most of the time they didn't turn out well but when they did they were so good. I also like Gedney Zingers ("Gedney, it's a Minnesota pickle" -- part of the theme song) and Claussen. Zingers are HOT, yum!

10. I'm going to throw something very strange into the mix
Hot lime pickles. You get them at Indian shops. Very spicy, lots of chili and salt. I love them but they are an acquired taste.
