Jon Stewart should sue
First Colin Quinn repeats the joke Jon told, almost verbatim -- only, of course, Colin muffed the punchline -- about the grisly photos of Hussein's sons being their driver's license photos. Then, tonight, Bill Maher repeats Jon's joke from last night about the "log" Biblical reference and homosexuals. Quit ripping off the Daily Show!

7. isn't it "The Colin Quinn Show"
or something totally unimaginative like that?

Yes, it's godawful. Actually, I can't fairly say that as I've never watched more than 2 or 3 seconds. But he sucked when he was on SNL.

20. Lewis Black had a hell of a segment last week
It was about why Bush is popular here and Tony Blair is less popular than the IRA in England. He compared how the english parliment debates whether they the information was right to attack Iraq and why they should be there:think: Debate what a concept.

When he showed Ari Fliescher leaving to go home he was hosed down by a MF firehose, when he said "they said it was a playful prank I say it was to clean off the Bullshit" I lost it!!

22. I liked what Bill Moyers did...
... he had a couple of British journalists on and ran a clip from Bush's last press conference just before the invasion of Iraq with some member of the press whores asking "...how is your faith guiding you?"

One of the Brits commented that if that happened with Tony Blair, everybody would be yelling "Pass the sick bag!"

21. Well, up until the first commercial...

... after that, they reran an old Colbert piece (great piece, but still, it was like 6 months old)... and I'm not even sure I remember who the guest was, but I think it was some media whore apologist.

Beat the Press was great, though... the press NEEDS a good beating for being the bunch of obedient stenographers that Rove wants 'em to be. They ran with the SOTU/Niger story for a couple weeks, but ultimately let Rove shape it as being about "16 words" which Bush then downplayed in his press conference.

23. My 5 year old son
He could not stop laughing when we watched it at 7:00. I asked him what he was laughing at (I don't think he can "get" much of it), he said -- "the chimp mom, why are they showing a picture of the Chimp!"
I think I am raising my kids right (or should I say left)

And Colin Quinn can get bent, him and most of his rotation of guests. The level of intellect on that show tops out at toddler, and if anyone questions thier intellectualism, they get pig piled on.

I remember the last show I watched there was a guy from that show "Whose Line Is It, Anyways" who was talking way left. Speaking on the facts about this criminal administration, and he got piled on from what I saw.

BTW!!! Anyone noticed Jon called bush an ASSHOLE on national television last night! Damn!

Is a no-talent assclown. I have no idea how he has a career. He either gives the best blow jobs in show biz history, or he takes pictures while he does 'em. No other explanation.

25. Well.....
You must keep in mind that Jon Stewart makes fun of whoever is in office. So to not like him now may be rollover hatred from his days of bashing Clinton.

16. Probably over your head
if you're an Adam Sandler-Pauly Shore kind of guy/girl, then Stewart's show is probably not for you. His references require political knowledge and a wide frame of reference in the arts. His guests are also more intellectual and political...not always the TV sitcom charmers seen on other shows. Humor is very subjective, though. As for his still being on cable, who is on the networks who's funnier? Leno? Ray Romano? Drew Carey? Help me out here.

24. Bill Maher repeated another one..
Stewart had a very funny bit about how they must be making homosexual marriage mandatory, otherwise why non-homosexuals care. Maher said something very similar the next night. In fairness, though, the administration is writing the jokes right now. Jon Stewart is the brightest light on the tube right now, IMHO.

On a more cheerful note, at least there's political humor. There was very little for an awfully long time. Reagan was in, SNL got lame, and stand-up became huge, but very little political content to be found. You really had to go looking for it. I missed the days of Mort Sahl, the Smothers Brothers show and all the stuff that was being said, because there was still a lot to say. Now, at least there are people saying it again.
