How Often Do You Use the Hide Thread Feature on DU?

1. Round about once a month.

Mostly for news stories about terrible things happening to children. I just can't bear to even see those threads.

I avoid them whenever I can. It's just too much and those stories stay in my head, especially at night when I'm trying to sleep.

Actually, I'd like to limit my time here. So, that the need to hide threads and ignore people won't be an issue.

I'd like to limit my time on DU. Don't know if I will, though. It's easy to say that you won't spend a lot of time around here.

17. that's how I use it

for threads that have the same topic when there are about 20 of them, for for when there are about 20 copycat threads. I use it when people post bodily function threads that I think are just gross (I have a week stomach and don't wanna hear about someone's diarrhea or whatever). I also use it for obvious flamebait I don't wanna get caught up in. I haven't hidden many threads in a while, but there have been times when I've cleaned out my cache of hidden threads and there have been 50 or 60 in there. I highly recommend ignore and hide thread, especially when there is stuff people are hanging onto that is months in the past and they just can't or won't let it go. Life is way too short to be bothered by that kind of garbage, and it's not what I come here for, yanno?

Really long threads that i think have been pretty much beaten to death get hidden. I'd rather have something else move onto the first page than something i know is just going to be a series of flamewar subthreads.
