I got my new cell phone today ... need help.
Edited on Wed Mar-14-07 06:40 PM by AirmensMom
It came through the mail and I got a really good deal on it. But I don't know how to transfer my phone book and pictures from my old cell phone to my new one. The guys at the Verizon store know how, but I'm reluctant to take it there because I didn't buy it from them after they tried their best to sell me phones for more than I ended up paying. Does anyone know how to do this magic?

Edit ... to say I need help!!!!!

1. For a good laugh, and a LOT of frustration, read the owner's manual.

2. I did that already.
It seems to assume I want to enter all my phone numbers in by hand.

6. Mine is evidently an English translation of a Chinese translation from
original Korean.
Totally useless and it's a Motorola.

3. You can't
at least I couldn't the last time I upgraded a phone. For a fee, the guys at the Verizon store will do it for you, but I don't know of a way that you can do it yourself.

:(

4. For a fee?
Well, that sucks. Guess I'll just start doing it by hand now. :(

5. I was told it was either $10 or $15
:(

It's not fair, is it.

8. Well, I REALLY wanted my pictures.
I can enter everything by hand for now. I'm transferring my pictures to my computer via Bluetooth now, so at least I can go through them and transfer the ones I want to my new phone and attach them to phone book entries. I'm sure I'm doing it the hard way.

10. If their policy changed
that's great. I upgraded last year and was told it would be $15. When the phone died, they transferred it for free because the phone was under warranty.

11. Different stores are independantly operated. Most stores are
run/staffed by complete assholes.

Like I said, I just did it last Friday. I bought phone through Verizon via a phone call and had it shipped. The store transferred contacts for free.

12. Thanks.
That would be cool. I got an LG VX8600. Not sure yet if I like it.

13. I think you can transfer all of your contact information to
the sim card and place that sim card in your new phone. On some phones when you save a phone number the phone asks whether you want to save it to the sim card...if your old phone did this and you did save the numbers to the sim card then taking the sim card out of the old phone and putting it in the new phone should work.
