I just tried to watch The Scorpion King for the first time.
I had to give up after fifteen minutes. I'd come to the conclusion that it was THE lamest flick since Schwarzenfugger did Conan The Barbarian, and it simply wasn't worth my time.

Fugg it. Good thing I downloaded it using torrent, and it was easily expunged from my hard drive.

The problem is, now I'm twice as bored as I was before. Bored bored bored.

Yep, I'm bored.

Any other lame movies I can download just so I can diss 'em here?

Damn, I'm bored.

:boring: :boring: :boring: :boring: :boring:

1. Dude, it's better than 300...
...which I just got back from. 300 was just stupid, stupid, stupid, whereas I found The Scorpion King to be great campy, pulp fun.

2. I found a torrent for the Bigfoot tv movie from the Six MIllion Dollar Man a few days ago...
Haven't seen it yet, but seeing the torrent on my desktop reminds me of being young :-)

3. I actually DL'd that a couple months back.
Not bad at all. It took me WAY back. I found the entire first season along with it.

5. Conan the Barbarian is one of the finest movies ever made.
Edited on Tue Mar-13-07 11:36 PM by Nevernose
Mendicant! Uncultured wretch! Conan the Barbarian is one of the finest movies I have ever seen, perfectly encapsulating both sex AND violence. From the script to the cinematography to the direction to the acting, I have to give it five stars. It is the very definition of American pulp fiction (except maybe for Pulp Fiction), from 1932 when the ideas were originated to 1982 when the ideas were put on film, and it deserves to be lauded at every opportunity and in every respect. Oliver Stone's greatest achievement.

Maybe your opinion of Conan the Barbarian would be different if the first time you'd seen it, you had been a ten year old boy.

Scorpion King was pretty freaking awful though -- you win hands down on that one. Fifteen minutes of that drivel would knock me unconscious.

7. I've been drinking pretty heavily, true...
...but that doesn't change my appreciation for Conan! ;)

Seriously, though, Conan's not all that bad. Really. I swear. It was the first movie in that genre, much like Robert E. Howard did in pulp mags back in the early thirties, and deserves credit just for bringing an entirely new genre of pop-art to the proverbial stage.

9. I liked Conan too.
I was a fan of the books when I was a kid and I remember not really expecting a whole lot when I went to see it. I thought it was really entertaining. A good time.
It was a bit hokey and overblown, but, hell, it's Conan the Barbarian! It should be hokey and overblown.

I've always liked fantasy and mythology and when I was the age you were, I was enthralled by the Hercules movies with Steve Reeves. Conan would've just blown me away!
