Your first music listened to in 2004 has been..
For me:

all of the enjoyable albums I got for Christmas (ones from Letters To Cleo, Fefe Dobson, Britney Spears (new one), Ryan Adams, Edie Brickell, Barenaked Ladies)

plus..

P.J. Harvey - Stories From The City, Stories From Tne Sea (I love P.J. Harvey. Enjoyed the strange Is This Desire?, but this album solidified me as a fan.)

White Stripes - Elephant (finally bought it - the first 8 songs are so fabulous that the other songs sound weak by comparison. When they aren't at all weak. That's the problem the White Stripes had with White Blood Cells. Still an honorable mention for 2003 at an A-.)

Also bought some songs at iTunes. Proudly bought "Self Evident" from Ani DiFranco. Now I don't like much of her stuff, but this political rant is great. Love where she says Bush is not President.

13. I got Rock N Roll and Love Is Hell (Part 1)

for xmas.....After listening to Love Is Hell a few times I wasn't too impressed so I put it away for now but I loved R N R from the first listen, I think along with Heartbreaker it's the best music Ryan Adams has made so far.........

16. Rock N Roll's the one I got for Christmas
Love it, even if it is kind of an overview of alternative rock. Am not sold on the Love Is Hell albums yet, but I love Gold, so might I like Love Is Hell part 1?

17. Will you like Love Is Hell?

hmmm, I dunno......It didn't hit me at first and after a few listens it still hasn't but I like his music so i'm going to continue listening to it, maybe it'll grow on me.....his cover of Oasis "Wonderwall" is alright.....Love Is Hell is unlike anything he has ever done so I don't think I can compare it with any of his other albums.......

7. I usually buy cds from smaller bands.
I buy their cds because they need the support. I also go see them live and buy merchandise when I can.

14. Well, I'm very glad I paid for the Ani song
I don't download songs for free anymore because I personally felt cheap - nor do I usually pay - but I got some extra money. All but one of the eight were songs I wanted from greatest hits albums or from albums that I didn't think were good enough to buy. One, from the Crash Test Dummies, made me want an album from them. 99 cents a song makes your money go too quickly, though, and buying is so easy on iTunes that it's hard to realize what is happening.

9. "China Girl" from Iggy Pop's "The Idiot" LP.
We have no decent radio stations here, so I have no clue as to what is good currently, if anything is.

12. .. apart from the usual New Years stuff..
.. that's played every year (ie. ABBA - Happy New Year), the first song I heard was Wham's Last Christmas. And the hosts of the radio show proudly proclaimed that they now had a head start on everyone else, who weren't going to play it for another 11 or so months :D

.. I then put on Massive Attack's "100th Window" CD - nice & laid back, just how I like it :)
