Some slime hijacked my ATM card, the bank caught the fraud and alerted me of the situation. They canceled the card and sent a new one along with a new pin #. Today I went to use the card to get cash out of my savings account but the machine wouldn't process my request. :grr: So I call their 1-800 number in hope of speaking with a teller. First you have to listen to all these recordings "If you need information on your checking, savings, or money market, press #1....." etc... I kept pressing "0" but kept getting "invalid entry. To get info..." :eyes: Finally, I get a person at the other end with a heavy accent telling me that my ATM card wasn't linked to my savings account. :wtf: And I say, then why have one! He kept telling me this. At this point my blood is boiling and I got real short with him and told to link it NOW! This went back an forth, and now I'm ready to throw the phone. Finally, he links my card. At that point it dawned on me that I was talking to someone outside of the USA. So ask him, "Where are you located?", his answer, "Manila, Philippines. :wow:

Nothing against the Philippines but this really bugs the shit of me. Do any US banks keep their workforce here? After this, I don't want to do business with my current bank. Does anyone have a suggestion of where I can take my business?

This outsourcing shit is ridiculous - I hate it!

1. Try a credit union
They're usually local. Or see if you can find a bank that is only in your state. My SO uses a little bank run out of Ft. Worth. Great service and there's always someone on the other end of the line when you need help.

5. Bingo!
Only way to bank today.
My local office is small and I know everyone in there by name and they know me.
And they are very accommodating.

3. OK, take it easy now, my dear devilgrrl..........
First off, it wasn't the Philippino guy's fault about the bank's policy.

I know you had a tough time talking to him, but that could have been the case here with an American......

Why don't you look into doing your banking with a Credit Union?

I've been doing that for some years now, and it's very much a good fit!

Hope your day improves, sweetie.......

4. I'm well aware that it isn't the fault of person I spoke with...
however, he did not do a very good job explaining what the deal was and it was frustrating. What ultimately ticks me off is that my information is halfway around the globe and I can't think of a reason why that is. Does Washington Mutual have branches in Southeast Asia? And if not, why the need to outsource customer service there? This is ridiculous!!!! I'm sick of this shit!

Nothing against you CaliforniaPeggy

That was before 'outsourcing' was the buzzword it is today.
