Anyone know how calling someone "peanut butter"...
could be considered an insult? Some kids were calling some other kid that today and it really bothered him. Any idea what that might mean?

1. Well, when my brothers were little they got in trouble, rightly so, for calling each other
"retard". So they decided amongst themselves that the word "apple" was code for "retard" and started calling each other "apple" all the time. My mom caught on pretty quick.

Maybe peanut butter is code for something?

2. Or maybe the kid in question has had either incident or history with peanut butter.

3. Also, my husband (who is Asian) told me that the term
"coconut" means you're brown on the outside but white on the inside. Maybe it's a term like that, but I don't know what it would be. Just that it's food, which made me think of it. :)

4. Anything can be an insult if you use an insulting tone of voice.
Especially to kids.

It doesn't matter whether or not it literally makes sense. Kids will know when you're directing hostility at them.
