How can I find an indie theater?

How can I find an indie theater?
Is there a database of independant movie theaters in the United States anywhere on the Internet? I'm looking but I can't seem to find one. I want to see an indie flick, a documentary, but it isn't playing anywhere near me. I want to request it at the nearest indie theater but I can't find out where that is. I would really appreciate it if somebody could help me out. Alternatively, if anybody is aware of an indie theater in York, PA, I would really like to hear about it. I think I heard somebody mention one once but I'm not certain.

You can find out what's playing in your area, and anything about any movie, new or old, that you want to know about... :-)

2. if you have a local alternative weekly
that is almost always a sure bet to find where the art house films are shown
