help-I'm having major keyboard problems

don't ask me what I've done.when I type certain letters,weird letter combinations appear,(like2#_8)
how do I troubleshoot this?I have a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse(Typing on my mom's keyboard).Thanks,guys.

1. Check your batteries if your mouse/keyboard uses them

Also try rebooting the computer!

2. Batteries.

That's why I replaced mine and stopped using the wireless ones.
Every time they went out I threw them and then had to find them...

9. have you tried uninstalling in Device Manager

or boot to Safe Mode...see if same thing happens....if your OS is XP...you can use MSCONFIG and select SELECTIVE STARTUP,, uncheck everything in the STARTUP section and reboot to see if there is some kind of software causing this

7. Wireless keyboards have a small hole in the back

take something like a paper clip and push in the hole, it will reset the keyboard....

13. It happened to me today, too

That happened to me today at work. The agency's tech person had the morning off. While waiting for her, I rebooted and the problem went away. Never happened before and I still don't understand why.
