Question about removing adhesive from auto glass, need help please.
I got a traffic citation from the chp about a week or so ago because my front windows were tinted so i removed the tinting today but it left a really fine film of adhesive that i'm having trouble getting off, i tried rubbing alcohol which worked ok but it's not really getting the job done, i tried windex after that but thats not helping, can anyone recommend a product? please and thank you.

I think this will work - you can also get it at your local market.

On edit: add link

8. Goo Gone AND a razor blade.
Actually, you can buy little retractable scraper blades at any auto supply store (most hardware stores have them, too).

I recently had to remove a bunch of crap from my car (which my ex had been driving before I repo-d it), and about 30 minutes with Goo Gone and the scraper did the trick.

10. Goo Gone, a razor blade AND a hair dryer.
The adhesive can be warmed up with a hair dryer and made a little easier to deal with. You may be able to just sponge it off and not have to use the razor at all. Heck, you may even be able to avoid using the Goo Gone and just use water.

WARNING: Remember that you're using heat, so read the label of any chemical remover you use to check on its flammability. I think Goo Gone's nonflammable, though.

13. Goo Gone is not flammable but it is combustible
It will ignite if you warm it up and then put a match to it. Flammable means it will ignite if you put a match to it at room temperature.

I have used Goof Off which is flammable.

You should be able to get most of the glop off first by scraping with a razor blade.

2. Acetone
It's what is in fingernail polish remover but you can get it in bigger, cheaper amounts at a hardware store. Be careful, it is extremely flammable.

3. Believe it or not, I heard somewhere or another that WD-40 will work
Spray it on and let it stand a while, then it should have softened the adhesive.

6. i tried that as well but the problem is that it drips so i tried spreading some and letting
it stand for 10 minutes but that didn't do much either.

11. ok..so much for that theory..sorry it didn't work out. Have you tried
softening the adhesive with a blow dryer? If you did that and used some kind of scraper/single edge razor blade it might work.

Good luck

5. Easiest place I know to find acetone is in nail polish remover.
But be sure not to get the kind that says "acetone-free."

Works like a charm. :)

7. Fabric softener
50/50 mix of liquid fabric softener and water is good for getting stickers off of glass and wallpaper off walls.Score it first with a fork, spray and let soak in and scrape off with some sort of scraper(raor, putty knife,etc..).
Not sure how well it will work on tint though.Worth a try anyways.

14. Be careful...
Some products can break down the seal between your windshield and the frame. Use them carefully.
