3. It's because they fundamentally misunderstand....
...that to be funny on a show like that, you poke fun at whomever's in power. They really and truly don't get it. Even Jon Stewart pokes fun at the dems from time to time, because just making fun of republicans isn't the point.

They're genuinely humor-imparied.
