Update: I'm not going to be a great-grandmother after all.
The girl called my grandson to pick her up from the clinic today. She made the decision without telling him and, in my opinion, made the right choice for both of them at this time.

So, I'm sending a case of condoms and a certificate for a vasectomy as a St. Patrick's day present to my grandson. (Do they make green condoms? Or ones with shamrocks on them?)

1. Good for her
She made the choice that was best for her (and your g-son) and didn't let him sway her. I hope he treats her well during this time, I know it couldn't have been easy for her.

5. I just ordered to be delivered to my grandson
a dozen glow in the dark condoms (couldn't find any green ones) so he can't say it was too dark to find them

and 100 extra strength ones.

I even paid extra to get them there before his girlfriend starts feeling like she might want to indulge again.

6. You are one very cool woman.
Too bad every kid doesn't have a grandma like you. :yourock:

7. Not really.
I just know what it can do to you to get stuck with that kind of responsibility at that age and I want better for my grandson. And you know how it is...mom and dad can say what they want and a teenager will rarely even listen. But 112 condoms coming from your GRANDMOTHER? (Does she really even know what sex is?) The shock value alone should be valuable.

10. Oh, Yeah - You Are Very Extremely Cool!
What a fantastically wonderful thing you did for your grandson! You're right - the initial shock will be valuable, and so will the message that you care for him and want him to have fun while being responsible ... once he gets through blushing. :yourock:

9. Wow.
You're like the best grandma ever!

Glad she seems to have done what was best, given the situation. Hope all works out. :hi:

11. I like your style!
So many families criticize and shame their kids when what they really need is the support to do what's right for THEM.

I gave my son a box of condoms a couple of years ago. I thought he was going to pass out! It was pretty funny actually. :D
