7. DID YOU SAY OVER! NOTHING IS OVER UNTIL WE DECIDE IT IS!
War's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one.

Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

Germans?
Forget it, he's rolling.

And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough... the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go!
What the fuck happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer -

Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.

We're just the guys to do it.
LET'S DO IT!!

-That is my favorite of Senator John "Bluto" Blutarsky's speeches.

50. if that's true
it's a pretty poor comparison. Bluto is the guy Dubya wishes he could be, but never had the guts. The Bluto character was a real leader who wasn't afraid of the consequences of his actions.

Dumbya is a powdered and pampered prince who has never once had to face up to any responsibility, he has "people" to do that for him.

59. I would say - not true
At least based on a logistical stand point. The story was put in place in a comic strip Doug Kenney started writing in the mid 1960s while at Harvard. He was Lampoon's first editor-in-chief. Given that bush was at Yale at the same time and was certainly not famous on Harvard's campus, it would be tough to imagine a geek at Harvard writing about a frat guy at Yale, especially when there were plenty of Harvard frat guys to inspire him. Chris Miller wrote the skeleton of the story in his memoirs of his fraternity days at Dartmouth. He is known to have been the drive for the party style frat in teh film. The brains was filmmaker Ivan Reitman, who wanted to make money off the Lampoon name. He set up the meeting with Miller, Lenny and Harold Ramis. Reitman produced and directed "The National Lampoon Show" in New York with John Belushi. He thought Belushi was perfect for the college party guy role. Harold Ramis was working on his own treatment which was going no where. Eventually the three wrote the story, with Bluto written for Belushi, who agreed ot act during the early part of the week in the film and go back to NYC for Saturday Night Live at the end of each week.
