3. It couldn't have been TOO early in the 80's

The first Mac came out in 1984 (remember the TV ad from the Super Bowl). Of course, there were other Apple computers before that.

Welcome to DU :hi:

4. I was thinking the same. However, if you split the 80's down the middle, that's
the early part :)

5. User since 1986.
My college was one of the first to ink a student price deal with Apple. Still, I paid more than $2,000 for technology that comes in most cell phones now.

I've had a Mac Plus, a PowerBook 145B, a Performa, an iBook G3, an iBook G4, and a G5 iMac. A friend introduced me to the Mac Plus back in '87, and I was hooked. But I have to use a PC for work, unfortunately.

8. I just made the switch...

I bought a Macbook Pro 2 days ago after the DVD drive in my Toshiba Sattelite went kaput. I'd worked on macs a lot but never owned one. It is so much better than PC It really was one of those cases where I didn't realise just how bad Windows organization and functionality is until I got out.

Did I mention how much I love my MacBook? Not to mention they even gave me a 300 buck student discount because Im taking a class as a technical college. I'm a Mac convert. I'm just sad I have to buy Sims 2 again.
