My daughter's version of a Hoplite Shield
this is for her history class, she had to make a shield by herself, i put the handles on the back after seeing her practice with the power drill i figured it was maybe i good idea i do that. Anyhow she spray painted it and then transferred the image of Artemis using some process she learned in her studio art class and then painted it with a really fine little brush, it took her the better part of Saturday and sunday morning. She's a bit worried she'll get points off for using a pre cut piece of plywood but i'm not Norm from this old house so thats what she used.

3. she's 12, and thank you, she's a bit of a perfectionist and she's not totally
pleased with it.

6. I love them at that age! I have a granddaughter who is 11
and she isn't too pleased with her art work. But she is very good! I just don'tunderstand it. Even her 8 (almost 9) year old sister is like that! They are pretty picky, but of course wonderful!

2. Cool. I want one.
And I'm not even planning on going into battle any time soon.
Make a nice looking coffee table.

8. That's *really* nice, but, um, this is for a history class?
I just don't get what she is learning in terms of history: she isn't doing anything the ancients did... On the other hand, she should show this to her art teacher for extra credit!
