3. Well if that's true then we have a lot of closet conservatives on this site
including myself, I love dogs and I would go so far as saying I'll never own a cat...because I'm allergic...so I'm not sure what that says about my liberal street cred :P

4. the only difference I get from dogs and cats
is how much more subservient dogs often are, But That Does Not Mean too much about the owners.
I have cats but I love dogs too, so much, and now that we have room we'll someday get one.
The proudest republicans I know Do happen to have dogs but they also hate cats so I think that's all just a character deficiency :)

5. Comes from the fact that most, or many.......
Conservatives live in the 'burbs, or rural settings. Many Libs tend to live in the city. Easier to have cats in the city. In the rural, and suburb setting theres not as many things that hamper dog ownership.

6. While I don't necessarily agree with that particular generalization...
...I would feel safe in saying that most true progressives are probably more "animal-friendly" than conservatives.

7. Dog person and evil lefty librul here
Cats are okay, but between our understanding about mutual dislike (cats aren't too often fond of me, and vice-versa) and my increasing allegies, no kitties in my home (watch, i'll get a cat in the next year and have to eat my words).

What does having lots (well 3) guinea pigs make me?

8. I'm primarily a dog person, but I have some cats, too.
My dog behaves in a decidedly cat-like manner, and my cats behave like dogs.
