What kind of questions would you ask in order to get really authentic answers from the candidates, as opposed to canned stump speech answers.

I thought I would ask this question in the Lounge, rather than GD, because I think this crowd understands what I mean by getting "authentic" answers, whereas the GD would just want to ask the candidate if they planned to put Bush, Cheney Rumsfeld etc in jail (not that there's anything wrong with that.)

1. "If you had five minutes alone in a room with Osama bin Laden, what would you say?"

I don't even think there's a right answer to that question. But if anyone answers "I'd subdue him and let the cops ask the question" they'd automatically lose my vote.

When we watch Nancy Pelosi on C-Span we can see her in action carrying out EXACTLY what the people have asked her to do. Her leadership throughout the non binding resolution was a perfect example of this.

What specifically have you done since that last election to carry out the peoples mandate?

btw Madam Speaker Pelosi would need a lot more than 5 minutes to respond here...but then she's not running for office, so it would be kind of interesting to hear how any of the good Senators would respond here. I am thinking and hoping that we may soon have a woman POTUS. I don't think her name will be Hillary.
