8. When Iwas 15 I brought a pregnant cat home who later had
three kittens. She and the kittens looked very much like the cats in this picture. My mom kept the three kittens and we adopted the mom out.

13. cute!
I have cats around me that were hand raised and even though they only knew their mother for two weeks before she got run over by a car, they still knead all the time, 5 years later. I'd love to have some kittens around but no way do I need more animals.

25. I only have two dogs and 1 bird and one rabbit.
I am renting a cabin on my parent's property and they have six cats and two dogs whom I mostly take care of so that is twelve in all.

27. My brother and sisters whittled down a feral colony a couple of years ago.
Got all the females spayed, males fixed and hand raised 9 kittens. Bottle fed them, then washed each one. Older sis tripped over them on the steps at mom's house and broke her ankle. But all the kittens got good homes and the two remaining males live in the yard and are now looked after by sisters and a neighbor. My mom was alive then and the kittens would all wrestle their way up to the couch and sleep and purr on her. She really loved those kittens. My sister took 3 home, my brother took two and the rest all got adopted out to VERY good homes. My sister is very fussy about who she gives kitties to!

I think animal rescuers have earned a special place in heaven! At the very least they have a special place in my heart. :loveya:

31. outstanding!

it's the thing to do - I take the kittes to the pound with the old "call me if they don't get adopted" - I don't know if it's the water around here or what but the kittens have been extaordinarily cute and have been adopted......I do trap/fix/and release if the animals are extreme ferals and have no chance getting adopted but sometimes they surprise me - one such release, over a year later, still stops by for the occasional meal and is downright finicky about what I give her!!! My adopted cat Riff Raff is my sole I-had-to-adopt-because-he-was-hopeless (no chance of getting adopted OR making it on his own) - he's a handful but I adore him. :o

Thanks for replying - I still do not know why the thread poster hates my guts. :)

i thought your post on my "i wrote a thank you card for the first time" was xenophobic..it also encouraged posters who had a personal vendetta against me to go on and on about the importance of cards.

neither me nor my culture is rude. you should understand that politeness isnt expressed the same way in every country

I was not aware of the cultural issue......my mother was militant as far as thank you notes go - it simply became second-nature to me and since I was a GI brat who grew up shuttling between America and England I had to write quite a few of them. :)

He loved tending baby things. So does his brother, Andrew. Weiners are great mommies. Even the boys. Especially the boys. ;)
