I've been sitting here noticing stupid little things
that irritate me and I just decided that...no. Better to think of things that make me happy.

So...chocolate and knitting blankets that cover my lap and keep me warm while I'm working on them and talking to people I enjoy and laughing and tormenting (in a good-natured way, of course) those who are just crying out for tormenting...

what makes you happy?

C'mon...tell me.

Otherwise, I'll have to....think of something suitably evil. And I can. Trust me.

Muahahahahahahahahaha...

1. Seeing You Be Evil
is sort of comforting?

Let's see

what makes me happy

a little boy sitting on my lap, hugging me, giving me a kiss, playing with me, hell doing whatever he is doing with me makes me happy.

lots of other things

17. I used to get like that every once in a while.
That was probably 25 years ago, though.

#2 son was supposed to be down that way this weekend, as a matter of fact. He was supposed to be in Baton Rouge either last weekend or this weekend, but in the end he didn't go.

He's disappointed. I, on the other hand, being the nervous-nellie kind of mom that I can be at times, am more than a little relieved.

20. I posted about it, so you can read the whole gory story. But I'm one person you do NOT
need to worry about. I've broken more bones than most people have broken wind, damn near died three times; I'm 53, but I've been awake longer than anyone else under 75, and hell, I don't even have any grey hair. And no, I don't dye it.

So I'll be OK.

But I know mean about the blanket on the lap; somehow that just feels warmer than turning up the heat does. Hey, get someone to share that blaket with you on the couch! THAT's the way to stay warm.

8. The movie "Amelie"
Has segments where the narrator discusses the character's quirky likes and dislikes. It is a nice film, if you haven't seen it.

The movie makes me happy, as well...lol.

But, I would say puffy clouds, colorful sunsets, orange moons, certain songs you hear just at the right time, and the last 10 minutes of sleep make me happy.

49. Well, if you like "Amelie"
You might want to check out "Everything is Illumiated". It stars Elijah Wood as an eccentric young Jewish man who travels to Eastern Europe to try to find the woman who saved his father in WW2.

It is quirky, heartwarming, and a little tear jerking.

23. I get happy by thinking about the little stupid things that make me irritated.
Like shitbags, fuckwits, halfwits, fuckwads, and shitholes.

Nothing makes me happier than being pissed off about something inconsequential!

I also am happy when I'm reading a really good book, get lost in it, and have some kind of snack to nibble on while reading and can do that for a few hours without having to get up to go the bathroom, pick up the blanket, or otherwise disturb my reading process. And if it's snowing outside while this is happening, and there's a fire in the fireplace, all the better.

Lots of things....

Great long conversations with a close friend, and no interruptions...

Curling up with my coffee and morning paper

Finding the words inside me for a poem, and being able to write them down before they vanish......

Taking pictures, and not being aware of being separate from the camera...

Sitting here, and feeling the connection to all of you......

48. Ya ever take a hot bath after shoveling snow?
I hate shoveling snow, but we had a big storm a few years ago and I spent about 6 hours shoveling my driveway. It was falling faster than I could clear it off. Sinking your body into a tub of hot water always feels good, but its all the better after 6 hours of "exercise" and freezing your ass off. A nice glass of port and a cigar and I can't remember a better feeling in the last 3 years (except sex).

55. Good food.
Good books/stories/comics.
Petting a cat.
Getting pleasantly buzzed, but not to the point that I'll throw up.
I collect replica arms and armor-when I have spare time at home, I snag my halberd and run through some of the moves from a fifteenth-century Italian text.
Arm curls and back exercises at the gym.
A full night's sleep. Speaking of which, time for me to get to bed.
